The following download is an update to the various
Horizons Mappaks, which consist of the files that define the image
tooltip and location that a map marker will appear on the Istaria
map. These files have been checked for spelling and the tooltips for
markers standardized which resulted in numerous duplicates of
markers.
I have removed all of the markers for lairs and individual plots as
they are to numerous to do an effective search when combined with
all the other markers within the file that was used. I intend to
have a separate download that contains only plot info and one for
lairs, because you can overwrite the files and refresh map while
online it will be possible to switch that info in when you need it
and will contain more info about each lair or plot with buttons to
toggle some plots on or off based on price or size.
These files are designed to be used with Cobol mappak which uses
Resources_override directory but they can be used with any mappak
that also uses that directory.
The sorting I refer to is that map markers are sorted so that
markers are loaded starting at the lower left of map and load left
to right accross and up the map. I am not sure if this helps load
faster but seems faster to me.
These files are for Istaria Map only. Maps fo rthe cities and
other areas will be added as I get time.
Download the files for whichever maps you use to a
directory of your choice or to your Desktop.
To install using Windows Explorer dbl-click file name click
Extract all/Or if you downloaded to Desktop right-click on Icon
choose Extract All files you get a popup wizard window with an edit box
type in drive to install the files ie C:/ and next button (or you
can use browse button to select the drive). Confirm overwrites.
The files in both sets go into the
resources_override directory with the exception of 1 file the
map.def file, for this reason the npcs files can be used with either
set.
This file contains the 2 files necessary to recover Cobol Marker setup
after a patch. This requires relog to fully use markers because the icons to select/deselect
markers are not fully refreshed however those that are do show the
markers so you may not need to relog immediatly.
The following downloads contain files necessary to use mapmarkers
with the default maps that Hz installs.
These markers files give an identical set as the marker set for
Mappak but it includes the marker png files from resource_override
directory.
If you have Mappak installed and working you must edit
ClientPrefs_Common.def to reset map directory string to
string mapPath = "resources/interface/maps".
This set of markers has had trainers,
consignors, pawnbrokers, vault keepers, and dragon trainers removed.

select/deselect markers are not fully refreshed however those that are
do show the markers so you may not need to relog immediatly.
